Excalibur (Susannah) Wreck – A Fascinating Dive Site in Hurghada

The Excalibur wreck, also known as Susannah, is one of the most captivating wreck dive sites in Hurghada, Egypt.

🛳️ The Story Behind the Excalibur Wreck

In 1993, during a strong storm, the Excalibur lost engine power and sank to the bottom of the Red Sea. The incident was caused by a minor engine failure that made it impossible for the vessel to maneuver. While the wreck is no longer fully intact, it remains a compelling dive location rich in both history and marine biodiversity.

The wreck lies upright on a sandy seabed at a depth of 22 meters, slightly tilted to starboard. Parts of the bowsprit are still visible at the bow, and many deck fittings and railings are preserved, offering divers a glimpse into the ship’s past.
