The PADI Junior Open Water certification is accepted in more countries than any other scuba diving qualification. It ensures that young divers receive the right level of knowledge, training, and safety to confidently dive to depths of up to 12 meters under professional supervision.
🤿 What’s Included in the Junior Open Water Diver Course?
During the course, your child will complete two confined water dives and four open water dives at a local dive site under the supervision of a certified PADI Instructor.

Knowledge Development to understand the basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn essential scuba skills in shallow water

Course Prerequisites – Is Your Child Ready?
To enroll in the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course, your child must meet the following requirements:
Minimum age: 10 years old
Swimming ability: Swim at least 200 meters without stopping
Water safety: Float or tread water for 10 minutes
Medical clearance:
You’ll need to fill out a standard medical questionnaire.
If your child has never experienced any of the listed medical conditions, a parent or legal guardian can sign it on their behalf.

Official PADI Junior Open Water Diver Certification
Ability to dive up to 12 meters under the supervision of a certified adult diver
A strong foundation for future scuba education (e.g., PADI Open Water Diver course after turning 15)
