EFR
Emergency First Response course
The EFR program is designed for divers and non-divers alike and is recognized worldwide as a leading training program for both recreational and professional scuba diving industries. Here's a description of the course:
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): Techniques for adults, children, and infants.
- First Aid: Primary care and secondary care for a wide range of injuries and illnesses.
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator): How to use an AED in the event of a cardiac arrest.
- Care for Children: Additional training for pediatric emergencies, including child CPR and first aid.
- Care for Diving Emergencies: Specific skills for handling dive-related emergencies, such as decompression illness and enriched air nitrox.
Course Progression:
The EFR course is often taken alongside the PADI Rescue Diver course or as a prerequisite for professional dive training, such as the PADI Divemaster or Instructor Development Course (IDC). However, it is also a valuable standalone certificate that can be useful in everyday life, workplace, or for those involved in outdoor adventure sports.
